This blog, shared by Jeff E., is a place for Graphic Designer, David Thorne to share his sense of humor when dealing with "not so smart" design questions. This is really just for fun, a post for a good laugh- Thanks Jeff!

The Theory of Type.

Click Image or Click Here: http://www.typetheory.com/
As designer's we sometimes forget the importance of TYPE. The size, color, font, placement- all have a dramatic impact on the viewer's impression of our presentations. Type Theory was founded by Ty Wilkins in January of 2009 after he graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. His website and design work are a GREAT resource for type and graphic inspiration-- I highly recommend taking a look at this website for some font liberation-- Enjoy!

"I have PSD" made with love by Hyperakt and friends.

[ Photoshop dexterity (PSD) is a skillset acquired by proficient users of Adobe Photoshop, the world's most ubiquitous digital tool for creating visual ideas. Qualities of PSD include supernatural powers of imagination and an overwhelming desire to constantly make the world more beautiful. PSD affects people from different walks of life. In fact, there is a high probability that you have PSD. ]

The Colors of the Web

As an integral part of branding, choosing a color or palette that will identify your company for years to come is crucial. In this analysis by ColourLovers, it's interesting to find how primary colors blue and red seem to dominate the market. That said, it is blue with it's cool and calming association that is hands down linked to some of the most profitable technology companies in corporate America, giving the color blue a whole new meaning.

Kuler Color

We are in the process of establishing graphic standards, but there's always that experimental phase when you need a little bit of inspiration or simply a palette that conveys the right message according to your particular project. Thanks to a great tip-off from Jeff Ervin, I've come across Kuler. It's under the Adobe Systems, Inc. umbrella and it's perfect for visual stimuli in times of designer's block.

It's constantly updated with other people's color combinations, but you have the freedom to use that as a starting point and create your own custom color palette. You can then transfer it with RGB, CYMK or even HEX for html color matching. The possibilities are quite literally- endless. Enjoy!
